Honey- Black Pepper Shrimp On Salt Blocks

Shrimps bring out their natural and sweet flavor if cooked on a grill but the taste doubles as we grill them directly on salt blocks. Moreover, cooking on a salt block will add an impeccable natural salty taste to the shrimps. All you need to do is to heat the salt block slowly on a grill or in an oven and cook delicious shellfish on it.

Ingredients For 4 Servings:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small shallot, peeled and finely crushed
  • 1 medium garlic clove, peeled and finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1-½ teaspoons cracked black pepper
  • 1 pound large shrimp, cleaned
  • Pink salt as needed

Cooking Directions On Himalayan Salt Block:

Clean and dry the salt block carefully. You can heat the salt block on a grill at 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes. Apart from this, you can heat the salt block in the oven. Place the salt block on a rimmed baking sheet and place in cold oven. Set the temperature to 400 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes.

In a small saucepan melt the butter and add shallot. Cook at least 4 to 5 minutes until the shallots softened. While cooking adds garlic clove, honey, lemon juice, black pepper and pink salt according to your taste.

Take a silicon pastry brush and brush the shrimps with the mixture prepared above. After that place the shrimps directly on the salt block. Cook about 2 to 3 minutes and turn the shrimps using the song. After turning, again brush the shrimps with prepared mixture and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the center is slightly misty. From their brownish look, you will get to know that they are ready to eat.

Take the shrimps off the salt plate and divide them into four parts as they will be enough for four servings. You can drizzle the remaining mixture on the shrimps if you want more juicy and spicy taste. To add an extra deliciousness to your dish, serve them with chili garlic sauce.
