- Wash and boil Dal Mash in a pan instead of a pressure cooker.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil and fry cumin, cloves, and bay leaves for 1 minute.
- Then add spices, mix well, and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add onion & garlic and fry until they become golden.
- Add tomato and water splash and cook for 5-6 minutes.
- Add the cooked dal mash and the cooking liquid, stir well and simmer until the dal achieves the desired consistency.
- Add fresh, leafy coriander as a garnish.
