I was amazed by how clean the rice was, as it only needed a single rinse before cooking. The grains are nice and long. They are aromatic and taste great. I cook mine in a rice cooker using a dash of peanut oil, a little salt, a bay leaf and a couple cloves. I love rice and eat rice daily- this is a fantastic option.
I've been buying the same basmati rice from the same store for the past decade and a half - this was literally the first bag I've ever bought that wasn't my regular brand, and boy did it not disappoint. Fluffy, fragrant, and perfectly toothsome, this hits all the important marks to a fan of Indian cuisine. Candidly, I was a little worried when cooking because it had a slightly different fragrance than my normal brand, but that was imperceptible by the time it was finished cooking and on the plate ready to enjoy. I buy a lot of Himalayan basmati and this is among the best and at a great price. Package arrived in the standard burlap bag, nicely designed, in a day. I don’t follow the cooking method because I have a better one: 2 cups rice, 2 1/4 water, dash of salt, olive oil, cover when boils, simmer 19 min, uncover and stir with fork.
As someone who is from India, I know a thing or two about basmati rice. I cook a lot, especially curries, so the rice needs to be on par to complete the meal. I was absolutely not disappointed. It cooked well, was aromatic, and tasted good.
